3 betting here gets more money in the pot preflop when you had position, effectively lessening the positional advantage that the better player has in this hand.

Calling gives him more streets with position.

In that sense, you should be happier to call the TT on the button and to 3 bet the TT from the SB. Of course, each of those choices depends on his opening range, his range for calling your 3 bets, his trickiness, etc.

UTG looks pretty bad and thus has a pretty huge range here, including lots of draws. We really only lose to sets and crush everything else in his range.
