"If you play at Party wehr the rake is about 10$/100 and there aren't any donators at the table it's obviously harder than at pokerrooms with half the rake and at fishy tables."

I recently played party 10/20 through 50/100 and there were donators there. i find it hard to believe there are no donators at the party 1/2.

Unless you´re an exceptionally bad table/seat selector there are most certainly room for you to improve your play and if you do you will be at least a 1BB/100 winner at 2/4.
And remember that you´re already better than the majority of players since you´re breaking even.

That's right. The key for me is table selection. I could even say it's site selection. I use to play on Party, Pokerstar, Fulltilt, in short, only the biggest sites so i could choose my table with some choice and Party was the best site were the games are just better. My stat were around 1.5BB/100 on star and fulltilt and 2.5 BB/100 on party. now i'm playing on Pacific poker since the last month, no choice on table selection but the player from the casino side are so awful that i'm at 7BB/100 at 5$/10$ short-handed. I did't play a lot of hand (only 6K) so there is short term variance but even so, can think that i will go blow 5BB/100 there.

bonus and rb are big at these stakes...all kind of items reflect WR... site, table/seat selection, stakes, reads, stats, amount of tables played. Yes you can win at these levels besides bonus and rb but the rake does have bigger impact on your bb/100. If you played only 1 table at a time at the best table on all sites of course you could probably win at 2+bb/100. (1/2 2/4 stakes)

As a serious question, why would you move up if that was sustainable? The WR:variance ratio just sounds so good...

since party closed a new age of time had begun.

if you say: my wiener is like 9 inch ahhh, my winrate is like x BB/100 hands, better say:
I have played x tables between month1 and month2 and my winrate is...

I go first:
stars, 1/2$ march 2007 until now, 40k hands, 2.5BB/100 hands and I play 6-8 tables with good table selection.

however in the same time I also played 40k hands 2/4$ at stars and made no money at those tables

Because:

a) the games got tougher
b) I was only playing prime time 2 tables of the fishiest tables.
c) I ran hot
d) I naively thought I could achieve similar WR at higher stakes
e) my goal is to eventually move up to the nosebleed stakes. I see each stake as a stepping stone/challenge.
f) poker isnt as fun when you can't bluff.

Half those hands were old party, half those hands were 1yr ago stars.

Stars 1/2 March until now BB/100 of 2.7 over 30K hands. I play 4 tables and will not play at a table unless there is one major donator or 2 medium ones or 3 awful tight wads (which is what is going on now with the PS bonus frenzy).

There is no question that the higher limit games changed when Party went away, but 1/2 is still very beatable. It is not going to win uber money, but for a hobby that is relaxing, it is fine. Think of it as beer money.

If you add rakeback and bonusses to that 2.7BB/100 you'd have alot more than beer money

i haven't played 1/2 in a loooonnnggg time. i do play quite a bit of 2/4, though (i play anywhere from 2/4 - 5/10). 2/4 is pretty beatable. games are probably a bit tougher than they used to be, but there's still lots of morons.

for some perspective, i'm at about 1.4bb/100 over my last 40k hands or so. this is with still plenty of leaks in my game, and i also feel like i haven't run all that well over that stretch.
