[ QUOTE ]
I can think of a lot of people who I'm almost positive have done this and a lot more that I suspect of having done this.

[/ QUOTE ]

You imply that you know the handles of these players. If you are not reporting these suspicious players to Stars you are providing them the same benefits of an acomplice.

[ QUOTE ]
It's the site's job to catch them, not mine.

[/ QUOTE ]

Granted, but why not report glaring cases like the one you go on to describe?

[ QUOTE ]
If anyone thinks putting six accounts is equivalent to sitting three people each at the pot limit omaha cash game tables and running a computer program that helps you figure out dead outs, then you honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

[/ QUOTE ]

The tone of your posts implies that your business provides you with enough information for you to spot cheaters. For you to sit on this information and not try to put it to good use is bad for poker, your clients, and yourself. Why dont you report players you suspect are cheats?

Then do not quote my post, or reply to my post.

Good Day.

although I've seen it mentioned on here many times, and am aware it was scam related, I don't know what Enron is/was/does/did.

[/ QUOTE ]
Lori,
Enron was I think the biggest case of accounting fraud ever discovered until the Worldcom (MCI) case that broke about a year later. Something like 30 Enron officials were criminally indicted. Arthur Anderson, one of the biggest accounting firms in the world, had people involved with Enron indicted and it brought down the whole Anderson firm (20,000+ employees) at least as far as their activities in the US I think. Enron is bankrupt and virtually destroyed in comparison to what it was. Enron has become symbolic of widespread wholesale corruption and deceit.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thanks.

I didn't know any of that (Although would have guessed some.) The real part that I was missing from the puzzle was Enron has become symbolic of widespread wholesale corruption and deceit .

That's the odd kind of thing that sometimes gets really lost in translation. I'm still rather embarrassed that I had never taken the time before today to look it up though.

Thanks to all for being patient with my stupidity. (Thankfully it's in a thread where I'm a long way from being the winner on that front )

The 'good day' sign off was a thinly veiled attempt at making yourself seem cultured or articulate. On both counts it failed by the way.

Let's get back to the real subject in hand. We're all part of the world known as the poker playing community. In order for it to thrive and not go back to the days / nights of the grinders or crooks skinning us 9 to 5'ers we need to protect the integrity of the game.

Any other conversation on this thread is superfluous nonsense.

This is the longest thread ever. Just curious if two people were sitting together playing on two laptops in the same tournament on the same ip adress could they get in trouble?

N82,

"Also, what ZJ isn't the same as what some people do on a day-to-day basis. If anyone thinks putting six accounts is equivalent to sitting three people each at the pot limit omaha cash game tables and running a computer program that helps you figure out dead outs, then you honestly have no idea what you're talking about. "

Are you aware of people doing that?

[/ QUOTE ]

El D,

I've heard third hand stories (like, no one I know does this or has admitted it to me) about people who employ multiple computers in the same room, programs that scramble IP adresses, and other such things to collude online cash games.

I'm sure the most serious, agressive and outright cheeating is directed at high-stakes cash games, although I have no idea what the extent of it is.

Also, I'm pretty sure that there are people who have the technology and the discretion to continue multi-accounting MTTs after this whole thing dies down.
