A new Nature paper shows that when one is infected with herpes virus, they become immune to some serious bacteria infections, like listeria and yersina (plague), though only while the virus is latent (no breakouts). Apparently it boosts your innate immune system. Now, the study was done in mice, but it's highly likely to carry over. BBV, rejoice!
