Too tilted to find a HH, so I'll just type it out.
6max, eff stacks 160bb. Villain is ~85/13/1.5 Hero is dealt: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Someone posts an extra blind. 4 folds, Hero raises to $5 on the button, villain calls in SB, BB folds. Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($12) check, check Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($12) Villain bets $8, hero calls River: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($28) Villain bets $17, hero raises to $80, villain pushes. $67 back to us. why are you raising this much? you're not going to get called by a worse hand and now you're too pot committed to fold to a better one. Make the river 45$ and it'll be so much easier to fold here

He has previously called me down all the way with A2 on AT5XX board when I raised pre, bet flop, bet turn, overbet river. Needless to say I had him beat. I thought his stats would be a dead giveaway that he loves the call button, but maybe i should have included this in my original post.
BTW, what would betting flop accomplish vs this villain? Someone with 85vpip doesnt care if I ALWAYS have it when I bet, they will call down anyway. |

You shouldn't even be considering folding to the river push. It's $67 to call into a $255 pot. The guy obviously thinks he's really strong, but he's also a huge donk and a naked 8 might seem like the nuts to him. Basically, he'll do this with any boat, any flush, any eight and maybe an overpair.
You are way ahead of that range, so the call is always automatic. Even if we limit his range to just quads, boat or flush, you still have 37% equity and have to call. |
