too many ugly turn cards, shovem, stack TT. Or get stacked by 88. He can have big hearts too; your not holding the ace is probably good here, even though it takes away a bd draw vs sets.

Re: 2nd hand of Mulligan - AA vs Check Raise?
My thought here is that the BB is more likely calling a Pot-sized PFR with 55-88 than suited connectors, since SCs are so much harder to play OOP. That said, 87 has me beat and hands like 98 and 76 are virtual coin-flips. TT-KK probably re-raises PF, and those are about the only hands that I want to see here.
I saw this as most likely a CF/WB (coin flip or way behind) situation and folded. I also had reservations about stacking off this deep with a hand that can easily be read as an overpair. The implication, of course, is that by folding I give the BB probably more FE than he deserves - making it a strong play from the BBs POV when you know that the PFRer is capable of folding a large overpair. (Also note that calling the PFR with a hand like ATs-AKs from the BB is probably stronger than you might think because you are encouraging a multi-way flop by giving odds to the limpers behind you. ATF, a CR represents a set, or you can semi-bluff if you catch a decent flop. There's also the possibility that LP is raising light and/or C-betting with whiffed overcards.) Thoughts on the fold or thoughts on calling a PSR from the BB with hands like ATs/AJs early on? |

Re: 2nd hand of Mulligan - AA vs Check Raise?
I'm not sure your line is clearly enough an overpair that you should fold here. You've raised a couple of limpers and then c-bet - I don't think your range is much narrower on the flop than it was before. He can easily have a smaller and connected underpair or big hearts.

Re: 2nd hand of Mulligan - AA vs Check Raise?
Okay, it doesn't seem like anybody wants to fold here. If that is the case, wouldn't it be better to peel one and then jam on any non-heart? Thoughts on this line?

Re: 2nd hand of Mulligan - AA vs Check Raise?
why bet the pot... thats giving away ur hand and asking to get stacked. I prefer a check or a bet of about 200. Makes ur decisions much easier

Re: 2nd hand of Mulligan - AA vs Check Raise?
havent we pretty much announced our hand as strong overpair here? and we're still getting check raised even after we PSB it?
i think LLJones is a regular (the name is familiar to me anyway) so i don't mind a fold here at all and im usually not one to fold AA in tourneys. |
