Jam or Fold
The Jam or Fold tables on p 136 of The Mathematics of Poker do not list the maximum stack sizes for which it is correct to jam with certain hands when that stack size is > 50 big blinds. Does anyone have access to this information? I don't care enough to solve the game myself but would be interested in the results if anyone else has.

Re: Jam or Fold
It's difficult to make such a table, because when stacks are high there is no exact treshold. Say BB should fold KK with stack size = 1398 sb or higher, call jam with 870 sb or lower. If the stack size is between this values, strategy is mixed. Ex., with stack size = 1000 sb strategy is to call jam with KK 72.954%.

Re: Jam or Fold
I am aware of this. I wouldn't expect there to be a table, or even a complete list of all the different jamming/calling percentages. However, something like a list of all the thresholds below which hands should be jammed/called 100% would be interesting I think. I don't necessarily expect that anyone has already done this. Basically any and all information that others have regarding the play of the jam/fold game with large stacks would be appreciated.
I am not a programmer so the only way I have of solving this game is situation by situation. Obviously that would take a really long time. |

Re: Jam or Fold
You can download the jam/fold strategies for stack sizes of 1BB - 999BB here:

[ QUOTE ]
Thanks a million, this is exactly what I was looking for. [/ QUOTE ] But the figures themselves aren't exact [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Couldn't download the file completely (why not zip it???), so example from the end of what revived: Code:

should be: 193.0 push ATs: 71.21% 100.000000% 193.0 push A3s: 32.41% 3.321170% 193.0 push TTo: 17.48% 17.423464% 193.0 call AKo: 58.46% 58.464690% 193.0 call QQo: 85.54% 85.492741%

It seems it is because of Selby's approximate equities from 'fa2n' file were used by the author of the table. Re: Jam or Fold
I'm not using any of Selby's data. I did increase the precision in the program for the stack size of 193BB and got results closer to what you have. However it took much longer to calculate. I'm using the fictitious play method as described in "The Mathematics of Poker" which I'm sure is not the optimal way to solve these problems.

Re: Jam or Fold
Originally I had wondered myself about the exact values, but then decided there was no real need for me to know. By the time you are in a REAL jam or fold situation, you are going to have far less than 50 BBs in your stack. At least that's how it is with most of my orthodox tournaments :P
