Default Announced Bet: \"Gangsta!\"

I understand that a slang used by young players "Gangsta!" is a 50 dollar bet, but where does this come from?

Is this any reference to rapper 50 cent?

Am I the only one who can see the absurdity of this?

Because it's been mistaken for S&W and there's no forum named Glock 9.

I'm guessing that the issue of a verbal bet does not come up much during online play, so it would be a B&M thang.

BTW, I have never heard this term used to denote bet size at a poker table, and I hope I never do. Then again, its better than "Quack-Quack". Is "Quack-Quack" binding if said in turn?
