Both still maybe good options when one needs a break from the bigger game though--thanks.

I didn't even know GC had a 20/40, maybe check that out. I thought Bay 101 had the only decent size limit games down there. Still, I want to get through this without shifting focus away from NL though.

I only played the GC game twice, but there were 3 tables one night I was there, and 4 the other. I have no experience w/ 101, except for a few tourneys, so I can't really say anything about them. If you want some first hand experience to inform you about more specifics of the game and can't find a player to talk to, I think some of the floormen at LC who aren't head floormen would definitely be willing to put you in contact w some people. Gry at LC might be good.

Build back your bankroll at lower stakes, sell part of your action, or get staked. Do not play higher than you can afford just because you are good enough, variance is a bitch.

B,

When I played the Palace 1-2-2 game regularly a few years ago, when the game got going it would usually be killed to $20 to go (I think they ended the practice of being able to kill to any amount, though, so no more killing for $100, $200 to go) and a number of the stacks were often $3k-5k deep.

spino,

You guys should get LC to bring back their 5-5, $500 min buyin game. That was a really sweet game.

Or try and convince AJs to start something like that.

I was told by one of the main guys at LC late last year that the plan was to bring back both the 10-10-20 AND have a 5-5-10.

Thing is, when they lost their no limit "license" in 2005 they brought in the Spread Limit (1-1-2 and 2-3-5) as a stop gap until they could again spread NL. Unfortunately for the NL players, Spread Limit, particularly the 2-3-5, has been extremely successful for the casino. Thus, they brought back the big game essentially just for the sake of having it, but they're not especially interested in changing anything else. They still regularly fill 4 tables on weeknights with the 2-3-5.

It would be nice if they tried running a NL every day, alternating between 5-5-10 and 10-10-20. But the reality is that 3/4 of the game would be the same player base, and there is no way they could spread the big game more than the three days they do now.

AJs ran the "big" NL game in LC's absence (smaller blinds, I think). You probably know this better than I, but I understand that AJs does/did a bad job taking care of its players, who were more than happy to move back to LC.

That's what I've heard, sounds like it would be a good idea to check it out for a little while. Thanks.
