[/ QUOTE ] Plus maybe I'm wrong but I've always assumed that the song Simon picks is the "chosen" contestant among the producers. Simon is obviously the judge people actually listen to, so it figures he'd want to pick the song for who he thinks should win. Didn't work for McPhee last year - but almost!

If he tries to sing it like the original, he has no shot at nailing it. Hell, Sting can't even sing the damn song anymore as seen on the Grammys. For some reason we always seem to see in the practice sessions mention of changing the keys, or singing a higher octive, or whatever, BUT NO ONE DOES IT IN THE PERFORMANCE. I don't get it. Here's how he could nail it though. Slow it down a tad, no dancing, no beatboxing, almost a slow R&B style version in a lower key. That could work maybe.

BUT NO ONE DOES IT IN THE PERFORMANCE [/ QUOTE ] isn't that something?? then, the stOOpidass, opportunistic judges jump on this as if it is something THEY came up with. this is actually a good example of the type of manipulation that the producers will always have. they will use the one blurb from the interview with the star where the star makes a suggestion that the idol does not take. then this is the point of contention in the comments. very annoying.
