UTG is a winning player and has somewhat solid TAG - like numbers.

Other than 88, what other hands can you put him on preflop?
If he's got numbers (are these vpip type numbers?) like you then his range is severely behind your card equity. Otherwise, the only hand I kind of see him "floating" here with are KsQs or TsJs because I can't seem him calling preflop with 8x.

As played, if the 8 completes a straight for UTG, he bets more on the turn no? That's an ugly dangerous flop. I think the river puke-call exists more if he bet like 600+ on river.

I shove turn after he makes that tiny bet

... as played. But I probably would just bet the turn myself.

You've got to lead the turn here for t500ish and call a push.

Shoving the river would be really bad.

[/ QUOTE ]

when he bets 200 into a 1200 pot, i think its fairly likely he doesn't have an 8.

[/ QUOTE ]

ok, then why would he call a shove?

[/ QUOTE ]

missed the read where he was a winning player, i don't like limping at 6max so figured he probably sucked from that. Also who is good at sngs and bets like he did, thats hardly good betting pattern unless he had some really odd read that hero was weak or would fold everything but 8x for 1/2 pot which seems dumb.

Basically based on his betting pattern and the utg limp makes me think he isn't that good, and would call if we checkraise allin with 2p/lower set/random pair since people don't fold much.

How often is hero checking turn/river with a straight here anyway, i'd guess pretty much never so even if he is a thinking player he'd struggle to put us on a straight, and i don't think he folds JT/J9/67 or whever he limped and makes two pair, same with lower sets.
