Standard AA hand, Different line better?
New to the forum here, I play live from 1-2 to 5-10.
Game is 6 handed, table is relatively loose with 1 really good LAG who has been loosening the table up with his talk and play Villian is a loose passive player, calls a lot of raises preflop with relative junk and usually has a problem laying down marginal hands. For example I've seen him tank for 4 minutes wiht 99 and the 9 of clubs on a 10 4 3 all club board to a raise and reraise in front of him. My image is TAG, raising pre and cont betting quite a few times and taking it down without resistance in the session so far. effective stacks 800 Hero raises to 60 in UTG +1, folds to villian in BB who calls Flop 992 rainbow villian checks, hero bets 120, villian calls Turn 10 villian checks, hero thinks and checks River J villian checks, hero bets 300, villian raises all in for 320 more Few questions: 1. What do you guys think of the flop bet sizing (too much?) 2. Is a check behind river good? (or losing value) 3. How about checking the flop, betting turn, and betting river (or checking behind) |

Re: Standard AA hand, Different line better?
Im kind of interested in the merits of checking an overpair to such a dry board of 992 on the flop behind. Only hands I could be behind to are deuces, and random Q9 K9 hands.
Does betting turn not fold out hands like 55 66 77 88 that we could be getting value on on the river? |

Re: Standard AA hand, Different line better?
1: Anything from 1/2 pot to pot is OK. You villain to call you down so whatever you think is his maximum.
2: Definitely bet this after he checks twice. Especially against a calling station like this! bet bet bet! 3: Your line in this hand is very dependent on how tricky villain is. With a calling station like this, your line should try to extract maximum value, so bet all 3 streets and fold to a raise. |

Re: Standard AA hand, Different line better?
ok good thanks guys I think I might have been a little results orientated from his check raise all in on the river that I had to call gettign such good odds. On such a dry board at the end i could not imagine for the hell of me what kind of hand I could beat that he was check raising all in on the river there.
