"both the blinds take it to the face"
that means SB caps the BB cold calls the cap or Sb cold calls the 3-bet and BB cold caps, right?

well, I dont do 5/10 at FT but that seems like a fold to me, because of: "Players do retarded things like all the time"

CO can have like AA (unlikely but still posible), JJ, any K or Q and check behind the flop because they dont want to bet/fold

[/ QUOTE ]

no capping involved, the blinds just called PF.

surprised how many of you said fold. most retarded things i've seen so far is crazy semi-bluff raises...you know, the agressive retardedness. but i'll start looking for the slowplay retardedness more and see if i'm missing something.

i don't think anyone checks a set against 4 opp on a straight heavy board.

Players do retarded [censored] like this all time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Retarded things like 3 betting AT, not bluffing a dangerous flop 4 ways and then bluffing the turn because you look weak?

it is retarded because how can you look weak here? You checked the Flop to the pf aggressor who checked and now you bet the Turn> how in the World is that a sign of weakness? This standard if you have KJ QK QJ AQ etc and the pf aggressor didnt cbet...

I would check the turn here and fold to a bet if either blind calls. Otherwise if HU I would check call down. 3 betting turn is chip spewing. Calling down or folding getting effective odds of 5 to 1 here is about break even IMO. Anytime a play is an effective wash I like to pay it off to learn something about the other player.

Pre flop raiser does not need a set to play the turn like this (although often he will). AQ could play like this, Ace high with a diamond draw, even a hand like JJ, TT, 99, 88 could have decided his hand may be good and wants to isolate one player on turn and check behind river.

i've only recently got back into online play so maybe i'm a little off, but i don't think anyone checks a set against 4 opp on a straight heavy board. so i thought the only hand that beat me was a set of 4's and his most likely hand was diamonds, and i 3 bet...spew? bad logic?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this is bad logic. How do you get that his most likely hand is diamonds. I would say it's a possibility but trip K's,Q's, and Aces combined make it more likely that he's got diamonds considering the relatively few hands he's 3 betting here pf. Also, the board's not all that straight heavy. Only JT gives an open ender and the rest are gutshot's. It's true he could have a hand like AJs or ATs but even then he's got tons of outs to beat you and he's got position on you. I agree with Wonder on him being retarded if he played his hand this way because of the reasons he said. Put yourself in Villain's shoes and you have AT. You checked the flop through and now the MP pf raiser bets the turn on a blank. "Hmmm, yeah, he probably has a K or Q so I'll raise even though he's the favorite and I have no chance of him folding if he's got one of these hands." That's retarded. Either that or he's just being aggressive without even thinking. That's retarded too.

Fold or call-down is very opponent dependent (after it's HU between me and the CO, I tend to call down vs. unknowns - something like 99 is certainly possible for villain) but 3-betting here is infinitely spewy.
