Default Live-Qualifier, JJ on the bubble, not the shortest stack - what to do?

Hi guys,

yesterday I played a live qualifier for the EPT. It was a satellite, where the top 3 advanced to the final tourney (where the 1st won a seat in the EPT).

We started with around 20 players, 4 are remaining. Blinds are at 600/1200, I have a stack of about 2.400 (not very comfortable any more). The real shortstack with 600 (!!) is UTG. He just folded his hand and is in the next round automatically all-in. I am in the CO, being dealt JJ. What to do? The chipleader (with a huge amount of chips) sits in the SB.

I tend to fold my JJ (at least I discussed with my girlfriend who gave me the advice to not even look at my cards any more but fold in the dark), what do you think?

easy fold..but what do u mean you're in the CO? If shorty is UTG and you're 4-handed you would be the button if you're not on one of the blinds.

But is the question really this clear? At least - today - I also think it is ... but look at the alternatives: in the next round shorty gets the BB and is all-in. Let him have a coinflip, which he wins. Then he gets 1.200 chips and has survived another orbit as the sb just takes half the stack of him. When I´m through the next round of blinds I just will have 800 chips left ... which means that I am automatically all-in. What if shorty wins another confrontation? I wondered if my chances to get away from the knife with JJ wouldn´t be at least worth a try ...

you're right. because, next time arround you'll be on a coin flip and your pocket jacks may aswell be the best you get at this moment. I would push...

Any other comments of the experienced pros in the forum? How do you handle such situations - when playing a satellite?

Please remember that the chipleader could / should call me nearly with any two - as he has the chance, by nearly no risc, to end the tourney right now. Still a push? Or a fold with any two - not even looking at the cards?
