For what it's worth, on that drawy board I think an overpair would bet more, likely a pot-sized bet. Your bet *looks* like a feeler bet to me.

Options here seem to be bet/fold, bet/call, chk/fold, CRAI, or open push. None seem good...
So do we pick the giant douche or the turd sandwich? |

All the time or like 75% of the time? I feel like I'm being way too straight forward if I chk/fold in this situation all the time...

Oh, I don't like any of it now that I realise it's against a short stack. I'd call preflop and c/f the flop. And I def don't like the postflop line against a short stack. I'd just bet 35-40 and call a push once I got to the flop like this.

We generally avoid hands pf that rely on implied odds against shortstacks (say, mid-SCs). So shouldn't the converse be true - that we should push harder pf with hands that pay off implied odds like AQo? |

tbh, I think you're close to being priced in if he shoves (which is essentially a minraise)

Bet/fold flop is pretty gross IMO. You only need 20 % equity to call a push from the ss.
If villain was shorter, like 25 BB and down, I like the 3-bet with a hand like AQ (pushing every flop, of course). But with a 50 BB ss a preflop 3-bet just blocks your own c-bet. Just call preflop. Fold to a serious cbet on this board. Float/raise other boards. As played. I think I check-fold without a read. The board is as crappy as the stack-sizes. |
