Where can I rent a camcorder??

very simple question. I never had a video camera before. I have a laptop with dvd drive and I would like to record some stuff. Im wondering if places like circuit city let you rent a video camera or any other store. I know this probably sounds stupid but I just can't spend hundreds of dollars on a video camera at the moment.
