Sure applebees is a chain, but their food is pretty good, and they're not expensive. IMO it's a better move to bring a girl to a non chain local joint that costs about the same amount of money, and she's prob never heard of it, but I also know a ton of places like that. sorry to let you down, but sometimes I really wonder if the hate for places like this might just have to do with location. Although the hate for applebees is pretty strong, so maybe it just sucks everywhere except for Iowa. Obviously I could pick out better places then applebees, but I really don't think it's that bad, except for maybe a first date idea.

The food is certainly decent for the price, and you can't beat half price apps after 9 to go with the happy hour till close.
