Umm, I think I would get my ass kicked if I did this [ QUOTE ]
get a little box and wrap it nicely. affix card to outside with the following text:

This is a very special gift
That you can never see
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you and me.
Whenever you are lonely
Or are ever feeling blue
You only have to hold this gift
And know I'm hugging you.

You never can unwrap it,
Please leave the ribbon tied,
just hold the box close to your heart
It's filled with hugs inside.

[/ QUOTE ]

but thanks anyway. Also, it's standard with our 2 families and most other families I know to celebrate mother's day if you have a kid. It's a present from my daughter after all... It is kind of stupid, but hey I get something also for father's day so it all evens out. That Cheryl and Co. stuff looks pretty good, but I think it's too late now. I will remember it for later though. I think I like Gobbomom's idea. It will last awhile after all. Any ideas of a good plant that will last through the winter without dying? I'm near Chicago.

You're welcome Maniacut, I hope your Mom enjoys her present. Bazookajoe, my favorite is a yellow rose bush, and I live in central Il. You can plant them all the way thru Sept.

one more great present for those of you with no ideas and a little bit more $ to spend: call Stanley Steamer, arrange to have her carpet cleaned and pay for it. We all love clean floors, get sick of doing it ourselves, and will appreciate forever someone taking care of this for once other than ourselves.

uh, is it wifes day? Why are you buying her anything?

manufactured holidays are so effing lame. Do a better job showing her how much you appreciate her the other 364 days of the year, and then laugh at all the poor shmucks who have to sweat out stupid days like this one. If she still needs some stupid present from her HUSBAND on MOTHERS day, and gets pissy if you dont come up with the goods then trade her in for a better model.

[/ QUOTE ]

he is clearly buying her something instead of the baby buying her something, since the baby can't. at this point, it's a "thanks for being the MOTHER of my child" day.

honestly, where do you find a girl who doesn't like "manufactured holidays" but does shave her armpits? cause i'm kind of thinking those two don't go in the same camp.

mother's day is for kids to make their mom cards with construction paper and glue.
