Great post, boxedIn, and I love Simon's quote about The Wire vs. The Shield even though I don't necessarily agree.

But in the scene you mentioned above, the way I remember it is Shane asking Vic, "Do you ever think about just coming clean? About everything?" And Vic says no. A pretty major difference in message, I think. Vic may indeed have regrets, but he doesn't even consider confessing to anything. At least that was how I read it.

You're probably right, the way you wrote it rings truer to my ears than how I did. Tried searching for a quote but couldn't find it. It's a bit different sentiment but kind of the same at the same time - the gulf between Vic/Shane and why Shane will never be Vic, no matter how hard he tries.

Another trivia tidbit: for those who don't bother reading the credits, 6.6 was directed by Frank "Shawshank Redemption" Darabont.

Episode 10 is now available. It appears to be twice the length of a normal episode, so I'm guessing it is the season finale.

IMDB lists 13 episodes for this season. No idea if its right though.
