OESD & FD on flop versus likely overpair...standard?
I've only been at this table for about 20 minutes...it's very aggessive. I raise to steal the button, and am getting 2-1 to call the reraise, and will have position throughout the hand.
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 6 players Converter Seat 1: PungElof ($211.60) Seat 2: katkat10 ($30.10) Seat 3: pubic heir ($49.10) Seat 4: neil705 ($50.65) Seat 5: BodySlamm ($52.35) Seat 6: klabbisjp ($74.65) BodySlamm posts the small blind of $0.25 klabbisjp posts the big blind of $0.50 The button is in seat #4 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 folds, Hero raises to $2, Button folds, SB raises to $6.5, BB folds, Hero calls. Should I raise and call a push, or just get it all in right now? I feel that to call will kill my action if my draws hit, so it's best to get it in right here, where he can't get away, and I have two cards to come. Thoughts? |

what flop where you hoping for when you called? As played i'd push here if he sometimes folds it's good.

I raise and call a push.
Don't know if a possible scare cards would kill the action, since this pot is being reraised. But I still would raise it up. I don't like pre-flop at all by the way. 94s is trash. I also fold to the re-raise, despite the odds were getting. This is one of the best possible flops for 94s and you're still 50/50 to an overpair (ignore FE). |

do you call with any 2 when you are steal raising and get reraised? That's going to cost u tons.
If SB is very agressive like the rest of the table as u describe.. I make it 25 and call a push. |

Re: OESD & FD on flop versus likely overpair...standard?
i understand that my preflop action is marginal...but given what I had seen so far at the table, I wasn't yet convinced of villain's strength--and yes, I understand that however weak he is, I am a hobbling lepper with the 4-9 (but they're suited!).
I call in hopes of outplaying him on further streets, and then flop the dream. I feel that I have to raise, and then reraise/call push depending on what villain does. I want it all in on the flop, or villain to fold. |

Should I raise and call a push, or just get it all in right now? [/ QUOTE ] Any decent-sized raise here is going to pot-commit you, so you might as well move it all in. That said, if you do that you've got to be going all-in with strong made hands in this situation as well. If you don't habitually do that, it's not quite as good. |

Re: OESD & FD on flop versus likely overpair...standard?
Id just push, you have fold equity versus JJ 1010 and AK most likely. if you raise and he just calls and the turn blanks for you, it becomes awkward and you become pot committed anyway. It also makes it less likely for villain to get away from the hand on the turn if you dont push the flop since they are likely committed as well.
