After playing in the $300+40 today, I have a question for anyone who's played tournaments at other casinos..

I play cash games at TS all the time, and probably 3-4 tourneys a year there.. Never before have I been told I'm not allowed to talk at all about a hand while I'm in it.. Not in general terms, not when lying, nothing. Not even when it's heads up. That seemed pretty ridiculous.

In fact, someone else had moved in, I had a tough decision for all my chips, and I'm talking through it and the dealer looked at me and I said, I can't even talk when he's already all in and I'm the only one left to act.. And he said no.

Has anyone ever seen a rule like this elsewhere enforced this strictly?

It's a new rule enforced by the Tournament Directors Association that they announced they would enforce before the first tournament.

I mean, it's silly, but not big deal and I don't fault them for enforcing it.

Very silly.. It should be enforced UNTIL its heads up.. Then, anything goes. My guess is it's too hard to explain that to some of the fish, so they don't bother. Still, takes a lot of the nuances of live play out of the equation.
