Funny, but they still somehow seem more badass than Metallica. Hm.

(Although Vinnie looks way goofy in that top pic. Sort of reminds me of Chris Holmes from WASP on the back of that one album, where he looked like some bigger kid had stolen his lunch money or something.)

the second down album [censored] sucked, the first one was pretty good.

I think floods might be the most underrated song ever. dimebag does some ridic work with heavy stuff that kinda has some other weird groove going for it.

CFH and VDOP are my favourite Pantera albums.

Don't listen to the other albums much.

But of course, some walking excrement had to go and shoot Dime in the face, and Phil Anselmo isn't going to be worth a damn anyplace other than Pantera, so it is over and it ain't coming back.

[/ QUOTE ]

Reinventing was crappy album I listened maybe twice and forgot. I don't think Pantera would've made more albums worth buying anymore.

why don't you go back to the 80s when they were glammed out?

[/ QUOTE ]

Why would I want to do that?

What a peculiar question.

Power Metal ain't bad at all.

This is totally true. There is actual musical brilliance to the guitar work in this song. Every single different part is awesomely conceived and executed, most notably the lead (one of my favorites of all-time, seriously), and the fade out, which is just excellent--scary and beautiful and technically proficient.

That is actually a good album. It sounds more like Judas Priest then Ratt or Poison, and Phil could actually sing back then.

Also I am glad the OP mentioned the song Floods. That is by far and away the most underrated Pantera song. It shows what Pantera really could have been if they didn't care about their tough guy image so much.

[/ QUOTE ] Vinnie looks like the girl from high school that everyone was afraid of because she might eat you.

CFH and VDoP were the two I loved in college. Whenever our neighbors would play their MC Hammer and other crap, we would put some Pantera, Metallica, or Bungle on and make them cry like the sissies they were.

Just in case anyone here doesn't know this:

Listen to the lead at about 3:50. Yikes.

Wash away man. Take him with the floods.
