Brag: First Time Live NL (tripreport tl;dr)
longtime lurker, second time poster. Im still so excited coming home some minutes ago, I just have to post this.
brag: up 450$ in my first ever live casino nl2-2 session beat: ssnl variance: someone tells me about the game being so soft and full of showdown monkeys you just need to flop a set for insta-triple up. I go ahead and flop a set and quads for my triple up. ------- now the tl;dr tripreport, very unballer. Im playing nl100 online for 3 months now and am fully rolled for NL200, cashed out a bit here and there and now put some moniez up for livegaming. Some guy tells me about the softness of the live games (see variance part) in that casino, so we finally decide to take the shot (friends severely underrolled). we arrive at the casino and watch some degenerate gambl0rs play NL5-5 with one guy busting stack after stack and then telling his friend who looks exactly like kojak how he lost 3,5k in hands like: "i have a pair of kings. tehre is no ace in the flop so I instantly put my money in but heck he has 333. so unlucky!?!?!?!" friend of mine starts off with some FL2/4 while we are on the waitlist for the NL2-2 table so I join a random 20$ donk n go thats just about to start to basically push every hand pf in 10 min blind levels 1k chips starting at 10/20 lol. I actually agreed on saying lol donkaments every hand I push, but anyway its in the Netherlands, and there are only degerenate gambling germans and dutch around, so no fun value in that. I get KK three times and push with blinds on 100/200 and me on 1k chips like I always do, no calls. Finally, blinds go up to 200/400, I have TT OTB and push with 1,4k, and obv get called by KK with me being bubble boy. lol donkaments. I finally get a seat at the nl table and I am quite calm and confident. the table seems to be regularly dominated by two or three kids in the early twenties, one of which starts right off very aggressive: MP raises to 10$, kid calls in the BB, flop comes T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and kid immediately bets out 20$, called by MP. turn is a 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and kid pushes for like 90$. MP raises his eyebrows looks at his hand and then says call like in "SHIP IT I HAS NUTS", flipping over A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] confidently. kid shows 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and I think to myself lol donkaments. BU celebrates his manly call , stands up and assures everyone at the table "I KNEW HE WAS BLUFFING!!!!!1111", getting confirmation by two elderly german gambl0rs (PT would rate them as 80/0/0). river is a 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] , BU throws his hand over the table in disgust and then rebuys, pointing his finger at the kid and mumbling "had you!" wow. after flopping my first set my hands shake and I get some adrenaline rushing, then I proceed to use up that adrenaline by pushing 230$ with JJ on a 345T board vs one of the 80/0/0s and the kid from hand 1 (whom I wanted to fold his draw). 80/0/0 is short (like 80$) and calls, but luckily holds exactly what I put him on (65) and doesnt fill. he announces to me : "JUNGEN??? sind gut!" - translates to "jacks? are good!" . Wow that statement was so relieving as he mucked his hand, my heart pounded so hard when I pushed 150$ in the middle. so im up already like 170$, and then this beauty occurs (which I may have misplayed on the river, but hey no stratagy in bbv): I have 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG, I limp in, german gambl0r raises to 6$, AJ guy, makes it 12$ to go, some more coldcallers behind him (lol actually its 7handed now), and so I call, as does the original raiser. flop 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I check (lol), and everyone else checks OMG check quads in rr 7handed pot I suck at the unlimited pokers turn Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (I immediately see $$$, this must be my money card) so I check again (berate me im a fish), hoping for a Queen to bet, and a flushdraw to call. thats what happens, guy in the back bets 40$, two callers, I call. river is Ah oh noes flushdraw didnt get there, A might be scare card, but actually the original raiser is in the hand so he might pay me off or even raise here, so I bet out 30$ and the guy in the back tanks. I see him count his chips, having like 100$ behind and hope for a raise, but he finally calls and flips over AQ cliff notes: first live casino nl2-2, flopped quads, made some unballer moniez, was so excited about the success I immediately wrote this tl;dr report about it |

Re: Brag: First Time Live NL (tripreport tl;dr)
Have you realized how much rake you pay? For my local casio, they charge at least $4 each pot for NL1-2. I think that is a beat.

anyone else shove river as played? [/ QUOTE ] No I think betting 30$ into what is likely a 250$ pot is the best play. |

Re: Brag: First Time Live NL (tripreport tl;dr)
Yeah, they expect you to check your flopped nuts at live games. If you bet out, that's where they call you (since you must have nothing) and you make your money.
Additionally, 2-2 NL and 5-5 NL? Have they not heard the term "small" blind? Why do they think it's called that? Anyway, good post, good read. |
