Am I a moron? Suggestions on a hand.

This could be sort of long... but here we go.
$50 bounty tourny.
$10 bounty on each head, $50 bounty on the 2 seat at every table.
I'm sitting in the 3 seat
Blinds 100-200
I'm on Button, and chip leader at the table with about 6400.
I have Jh8h.
UTG+2 limps, 50 bounty goes a in for 500 total. I push to 1700 total.

(My thinking here: The limper has been pretty tight. Seen about 4 hands from him. He raised three times AK, QQ, 99 (the 99 was from UTG). Plus he has limp folded to big raises a couple times and is second in chips so might not want to tangle with me, so I'm hoping I can push him out. I know the BB is folding(holding cards already in muck position), so I'm only worried about the small blind and he only has 1200. I figure I can try to go against the bounty for only 500 chips and a chance to take the big bounty.)

Small blind calls his 1200 off, and the limper calls. (at this point I'm cursing myself for getting involved)

(Limper checks, I put him in for 2600 total. At this point I hope to pick up the 1000 side pot and go against the two bounties in with the gut shot, flush draw, overs. I was pretty sure the limper did not have an over pair, and if I was wrong or he had a set, I still have 12 outs to the pot. They only thing I really feared was him flipping over a higher flush draw.

He thinks for a long time and calls with AQo, no heart.
The big bounty has AQo also, no heart, small blind has Q4s diamonds.

WoW I'm in great shape. Any heart, 7, 8, J. But a black 10, black 2 roll off and im left with 1800. OH well..
Anyway hand around for about a little longer but the blinds go up fast and get the best of me.

Am I stupid? I now realize pushing action when the big bounty was all in was stupid, everyone goes after it. But i was a little pissed with the AQ call on the flop. If not for that I only lose 700 in a situation I'll take every time.

I think it was a bit stupid indeed. They might be thinking you were just going for the bounty + u could double the others up.
But then again, thats what you get in bounty tournaments, if you want to go for the bountys then you risk your chips.
