Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
[ QUOTE ]
On a different note, how come Buchholz hasn't gotten any consideration for a callup? 35 K to 3 BB in 27 IP plays on my team for sure. Flyball rate is a little disconcerting as that could translate into a lot of doubles/hr at fenway but at the very least he's better than a certain pockmarked face elderly gentleman holding down the back of the rotation. James [/ QUOTE ] Certain pock faced elderly gentleman is Manny's boy toy. But seriously he hasn't pitched bad, running into the other teams aces 3 times now and why rush Bucholz when things are rolling along so good? And isn't Lester the next called up? |

James [/ QUOTE ] 2005 draft pick, I think he's a converted position player. He's dominated every stop so far and is only AA, so I expect them to move him up to AAA once Lester comes up or just soon in general. He looks like a real stud, and so they're doing IMO the right thing and not messing with his development, and they'll get a full six years of good service time out of him. Most of why guys like him don't come up faster is because we're paying Tavarez millions of dollars, he's not on the 40 man, we have to get rid of someone to bring him up. He'll be in the rotation in 2008 I think if he keeps up his current pace. |
