Moving up in stakes @ Foxwoods 1/2NL to 2/5
SO ive built up my roll enough to start taking shots at 2/5 NL I was wondering if the game is that much different than 1/2?
I mostly play a few times a month on Sundays and once and a while on Mondays from around 10AM to whenever. Is this game always good like 1/2 or is game selection more important? |

the best 2/5 table I've ever sat at was tougher than the toughest 1/2 table. still ridiculously soft though. I usually play in 1 hr stretches waiting for other games.

The bad players are still the bad players, they just have more money in front of them. The good and average players are a notch better, because they've moved up in stakes.
A deep 2/5 game is substantially deeper than a deep 1/2 game (in my experience). This means more money on the table, always a positive. Best advice is pick a day when you feel good and that your game is on, then try it. |

Ive been told by some regulars that the 2/5 is not worth playing during the week esp. during the day.
Is there any truth to that? |

well think of it this way - if a game is dominated by neutral/positive EV regulars, there's less to be made.
Tourists come moreso on weekends. Draw your own conclusions. |

Just try it and see how it goes; if it looks bad that day, move back to 1/2 and try again a different day.

Re: Moving up in stakes @ Foxwoods 1/2NL to 2/5
The 2/5 game is full of converted limit holdem guys so most play a tight but aggressive game and they can get away from hands at 2/5 you may have 1 or 2 below average players 5 or 6 average and 2 to 3 good regulars During the day if no 5/10 game is going especially on Tues mornings everyone plays 2/5, then you get some tough tables. I played mostly weekdays 10am-10pm I found table selection is key you still can get some wild tables where people can have 3000-4000 in front of them. I found the games to be pretty good you could still get a quick double up during the week it really depends on the table. During the week 2 or 3 tables usually run although the last few weeks later in the afternoon there has been 3 or 4 going. I have been hearing from some of the other regulars more 1/2 players are takin shots at 2/5 now.

Ya...there is usually not as much action during the day (morning until around 4-5pm) on weekdays. Ever since they raised the buyin at the 1/2 to $300 a few months ago, it took away a lot of the fish from the 2/5 that only played bc they wanted to sit with more than 100$.
