Help with end game situation
8 left in a 180 man. Blinds are 800/1600 75 ante. I'm in the CO with 25,000. I'm pretty confident that the SB will push for his last 9000 with any two. What range do I put him in with? I'm not sure what math to do to solve this...ICM?

Put him in with any ace, 2 suited face cards, any pair.

I'm pretty confident that the SB will push for his last 9000 with any two. [/ QUOTE ] Really? That is pretty terrible if he is willing to call/shove w/no FE against a PFR with any two. Anyhow, in terms of cEV, just any hand that has enough equity against any two random cards (if your read is correct). Don't forget to compute the equity of someone else coming in (which is complicated so just estimate). In terms of $EV/ICM, you have to know all of the stack sizes and own SNG PowerTools if you ask me, b/c I sure as hell don't want to run all those numbers. Anyhow, I'd just raise/call with any ace, any two face cards, or any pair. |

That may be the case but I'm interested in the math to figure this out...I just don't know how to set it up

That may be the case but I'm interested in the math to figure this out...I just don't know how to set it up [/ QUOTE ] The math is kinda nasty b/c other players might get involved and running ICM with more than 3 players is a bit inaccurate IMO. That's in terms of running $EV math. In terms of cEV math, it's not nearly as complicated, but still tough. You have to figure it for a few scenarios: 1) You raise and SB shoves and you call; everyone else folds. Figure your range against his range (which you said was ATC). 2) You raise and somone else re-raises/shoves SB shoves. First, figure what part of your range you fold. Next figure how often you call this other person's shove and your equity against his range for the sidepot and against both of their ranges for the main pot. Now you should have equities for scenario 1 and scenario 2. Now weight each scenario for likelihood of happening (basically how often another player will pick up a hand in his range). This oughta do it...or it least get it close. Edit: Oh yeah. I am intentionally ommitting scenarios where more than one other player besides the SB gets involved. |

Re: Help with end game situation
This guy was very nitty and had been pushing a bunch.
I had A4 suited but I wanted to figure out not only if I should get all in with that hand but what my range should be. I'll try my best to run the numbers...thanks. |
