Default FT $30 + 3 SNG, 1st level, all in call on paired board with overpair

On first hand of tournament, lose 1/3 of stack with AQo to AsKs on A-rag-rag board. 6 hands later I tangle with villain from first hand. He was playing a little passive and had seen him limp with 4c6d EP and super slowplay his flopped set of 6's to win very small pot. Because I had seen him make that play, I did not believe he would play any set fast here at all or overvalue two pair, especially since I was PF aggressor.

Betting the flop for like 3/4 pot here makes this hand soooo much easier. So many scare cards can hit on the turn here so betting this flop is a must unless you KNOW he is going to bet it if you check to him so you can check raise.

As played, I dunno, this hand was played out very weird. Surely he would bet on the flop if he had a jack? With your read he might check behind with a jack but I doubt it. On the turn, I'd call the dumb minraise and check to him on the river as well and when he pushes, I puke. I think he shows a set like 30% of the time and lower 2 pair types hands roughly 70% of the time.

I had played with several of these players in a SNG twenty minutes before. They were all very weak-tight and in that SNG giving me lots and lots of respect. I would open with any 2 and either take it down PF or make a small 1/2 pot size continuation bet and take it down there. Due to that fact, I didn't want to bet flop and have theduke just instamuck. But I like ur thinking and a bet on the flop would have made this hand much easier to put him on a smaller range of hands. Another question I have I guess is, should I have been playing this hand for value or trying to protect my overpair?

You're betting for value and also protecting your overpair at the same time. Any J, K, or A on the turn here sucks. You're goal here on the flop is to build a pot so you can eventually get it all in by the river. (if the board isn't too scary of course)
