Stars: Take cash from 1k wsop event instead of $650 bonus?
This may have been discussed already...so excuse me if I missed it.
I noticed that by buying the $1k entry (for 62k points) into the early wsop event you get $850 in cash up front. I believe that is a higher $/point ratio than the $650 bonus, and does not require you to play to get the money. Am I missing something? |

Re: Stars: Take cash from 1k wsop event instead of $650 bonus?
so you're saying register with the points and get $850 in seat for 62k instead of $650 cash from the VIP store?
You realised if you unregistered you would either get 62k points re-credited OR you'd get the $850 in W$ not real cash. I'm sure Stars are aware of such workarounds. |

Re: Stars: Take cash from 1k wsop event instead of $650 bonus?
WEll, what happens (read it at their site) is they say they give you 85% up front deposited directly into your account.
Then the remaining 15% is depsoited into your account after confirmation of playing. There is no mention of the $850 (or the $150 for that matter) being T$ or W$. This essentially seems like a 62k points = $850cash Anyone else see this? Thoughts? JW |

Re: Stars: Take cash from 1k wsop event instead of $650 bonus?
they "withold" the 15% as a way to try and convince you to play in the event...
If you choose not then, then yes, it's a direct way for cash. There are tons of other ways to get direct cash if you really want them....but screw that, I WANT FREE STUFF! lol |

And it has no clearing requirement. I think I'll give it a shot. I'd really rather use it as an excuse for wifey to let me go to vegas :P |

Re: Stars: Take cash from 1k wsop event instead of $650 bonus?
well, there are some other ways I can think of.
They can 'require' you to play in the event and say they will deduct the money from your account after the WSOP without proof that you played it. Something like that anyway. Since they aren't saying anything like this (yet) I would guess that means you really can just use it as a direct-cash purchase if you like. Same goes for main-event seat winners. I'm surprised they are just giving $11k out of the $12k, which many people obviously will just keep, and aren't trying to 'force' the player to spend it on a buy-in. |

Hello,
PokerStars will credit $850 into your account within 72 hours of the purchase. If you do not play the event, we will not credit the addition $150 into your account. http://www.pokerstars.com/fpp/store/...sop/qualifier/ Regards, ScottY PokerStars VIP Team |

But then you run into the problem of people "losing" their proof that they played in the tournament. Not to mention, they probably rake more FPPs by only giving 85% of the cash.
