is it bad that i just push QQ-AA as well? if youre pushing a lot, suddenly standard raising is going to look suspicious

[/ QUOTE ]

You would think, but really theres so many dumb people that won't recognize this. Especially at lower levels where the only people you see a lot is the regulars, you definitley can get a lot more value from raising the top hands and getting people to shove over you.

Would say that definitely depends on the stakes.

A standard opening is only going to induce re-steal attempts by hands you're crushing anyway, so raise/call and open-shove are both decent options and probably about equal in value. I never like having 2x pot behind OOP on the flop with second pair, so I might be more inclined to push from MP, but raise to t300 from the CO or Button.

[/ QUOTE ]

With which pairs would you just standard open?
Push 88-JJ?
Open Raise with QQ-AA?

[/ QUOTE ]

From EP I'll make the standard opening with 55+ when I'm paying attention, but shove 55-JJ if I've got enough tables open that I don't want to dedicate the mental energy to playing a flop. 22-44 usually get limped if the table is fairly passive, folded if I'm likely to be raised. It's actually one of the few spots where I'll give much information away about my hand with my preflop action.

Yeah I would definitley recommend doing this, I used to shove everything to hide the big hands and you get sooo much more value out of them when you standard raise QQ+.

I make a standart raise with TT+(with TT about 60 percent standart raise 40 percent all in).

Today I had the following spot in a $16:
CO with AQs with 13 BB,I raised it up to 250 and called a push
from the button.Is this horrible?

Without any unmentioned factors that could make it bad to call that is usually fine, if you are in a spot that you don't really want to get all in then you should just shove.

Can someone explain why you're recommending a shove?

Are you hoping for folds or calls?

There's still 9 players left, you're UTG+1, and you've got about 15xBBs. I'd still be trying to play tight and fold in this situation; so I'd like to know why you guys are recommending the shove. (I'm here to learn =) )

Thanks! =)

Im here to learn as well.

TT vs a random hand is about a 75% fav at showdown. Folding would be bad with a hand that is this good Im thinking. (My 75% number may need to be double checked)

I'm shoving hoping for folds since that will add 10%+ to my stack. If you open for 3bb and get a caller do you fold when overs hit the flop?? A shove likely folds alot of unpaired overs that might call your 3bb raise.

Put the tough decisions to your opponents and avoid them yourself.
