And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain....

Here is my main sticking point for the night...and what bothered me the entire show.

So many of the songs were SO identifiable as Beegees tunes...and with the Beegees having a TOTALLY unique sound...it made it hard to hear them being sung in a completely different fashion.
Especially when it came to Staying Alive and How Do You Mend a Broken Heart. All I could hear in my head was the original version...and it was the Beegees sound and arrangements that made them classics.

I did not have this problem with BonJovi, Jlo, etc.

Anyone else have a hard time getting past this?

Really disagreed with their take on Jordin's performance. Doesn't hurt that she seems to look better every episode while the other two are dogs at best.

Been talking to Jay Cohen who founded WSEX about this shiat and other stuff, he doesn't take part in the operation end of things anymore but said he would pass on my comments/concerns. Basically "he is rich now, doesn't matter to him, so enjoy!"

If I had money at WSEX, I'd probably put a little on Blake at that price, and that may be the lowest you ever see Melinda. Given LaKisha being voted out, I think Melinda is even more likely to make it to the finale (as she should).

I agree it's a serious problem. I've listened to SNF soundtrack recently and the BeeGees were going through my head while the contestants performed.

Jordin made an outstanding decision to chuck the BGs and go with Streisand for her second song. My wife and I loved it and are shocked at the judges.

This was the right time to evade the theme with a song that highlighted her talents instead of risking a disco train wreck.

Though DI hasn't been too accurate this season, we're at the magic 30 minute point and it doesn't look too good for LaKisha.

I guess what really surprises me is that Blake has a sizable lead over Melinda despite the (apparent) suckitude of both his songs tonight. I guess he is getting an even bigger Chris R. vote surge than I'd thought he'd get.
