[ QUOTE ]
I believe in God, but I do see how this would be really annoying to someone who didn't. She's basically saying that things shouldn't go right for those who don't believe in God. I think you can believe there is no God, yet still be a righteous person. There are people who believe in God who are far worse humans than some who don't. [/ QUOTE ] That is a very strange way of interpreting that bible verse, to say the least. |

Re: Things that do NOT belong in Corporate Email Signatures...
Now, if the senior network manager was a woman, you could've countered with this:
If a betrothed virgin is raped in the city and doesn't cry out loud enough, then "the men of the city shall stone her to death." (Deuteronomy 22:23-24) or this: If you see a pretty woman among your captives and would like her for a wife, then bring her home and "go in unto her." Later, if you decide you don't like her, you can simply "let her go." (Deuteronomy 21:11-14) If it's a guy, you'll have to revert to traditional great quotes from the bible. Such as: Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him. (James 5:14-15 ASV) or something more up-to-date: "Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT) Feel free to replace some parts, such as "Merathaim" with "Iraq", "Pekod" with "Saddam", "Babylon" with "Baghdad" and finally, "LORD" with "GW Bush" in the last quote. Ah... so many other great quotes are available... |

Sorry for adding another one.
This one's specifically interesting for your senior network engineer: For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. (Exodus 35:2) |
