I think you've got to check here, and be ready to throw it away to a bet of more than $20 or so. The river hasn't really made much difference, you're still behind to a straight and you're still ahead if he's paired or bluffing. Only difference is if he flopped a set or two pair which is unlikely.

It's just a nasty board, don't let the river change your view of it.

I think the only logical hands that beat you are 67s, 77 and As7s but you get value out of a lot of other hands (34s, 45s, 56s, 33, 44, 55, 66, jj+).

Is villain a logical player? If not then I check-call if he is then I bet-call

What if he bets $30+, you're still calling on that board? I'm not getting at you or anything I'm just curious.

I think if hes betting this river he has the straight. I think he checks most hands here for a showdown mainly a PP. If hes bluffing, hes doing it with air and the play on previous streets i dont think he has air. I'd call a small bet tho not $30+.

b/f hes only betting a straight here which is why c/c is bad, you're turning your hand into a bluff catcher when in actually fact you have value against sets/2pr/pairs

Turn: if your gonna c/c here, then betting is much better imo
river: b/f is best line.

check/minraise/fold small bet
check/fold to large bet

Try to pick up reads on people whether they valuebet small, medium or large with their good hands and their weakish one pair type hands. It really helps in situations like this if you know that your opponent always half pots with the nuts.
