Default Speakers for under $50

I had some luck picking out a new flatscreen monitor a while back by browsing the posts in this forum. Does anyone have any suggestions for good speakers with an earphone jack for around or less than $50? Or more broadly, are there any brands I should look for or avoid? They're just for general use. I have a tin ear, so they don't have to be wonderful or anything. I would also like for them to last for more than a year.

Go to an office supply store and look for the most expensive ones you can afford that have the jack you want. It's not going to matter much one way or the other.

I have a 2.1 (two speakers plus sub) set of logitechs that I got from newegg a couple of years ago for ~$40 plus shipping. Can't remember off the top of my head if they have a headphone jack, but I'm thinking they do. They sound excellent to me, especially for the price.

edit: I think it is these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121119
