The best day/night in your life

Not to be cliche but my wedding day was phenomenal and nothing could compare to the day my daughter was born. A little less cliche was Saturday, Memorial Day Weekend 1996...

I'm a high school senior pitching in my county's championship game. I end up throwing a complete game shutout (3-0) to help our school end a 44-year championship drought in the the Greater Newark Tournament, affectionately known as the GNT.

My teammates carry me off the field where I give a couple of interviews (the game was televised) and then hop in my buddy's car to head down the shore.

Our first basemen is driving, our SS is riding shotgun and he and I spend 3 hours killing a bottle of Cuervo as we ride down to meet our friends and half our graduating class at the motel.

Apparently, word had traveled down that we won and as we stumble out of the car by the motel, the entire 3rd floor of the Admiral West is filled with about 100 people chanting G - N - T, G - N - T.

Once we get up there, our friends are dousing us with beer and generally doing everything they can to help us makeup for the 2 nights of partying we missed as we prepared for our big game.

Most of what happened the rest of the night was fairly standard high school party drunkiness, but I wouldn't give those memories up for the world.
