I would just like to get back into the flow of playing poker again. I need to get back into the learning process. I am going to try to play some hands, read some of the beginner books I have, and post around here more often.

Get all that blood out of the basement. Take down the Christmas tree lights. Fix the lawn mower.

[/ QUOTE ]

Some people like to clean their lawn mower blades with an old damp rag.

Personally, I just run it in the bathtub with a little soapy water.

My PTDB is at 96,000 hands.

Once I finish clearing a bonus that I'm working on, I'll start playing 2-3 tables and trying to improve my game heavily.

These stats pretty much mirror the 140k before that, and is the main reason I'm pulling out all my hair right now.

Last month I was grinding pretty hard, but this month I've been playing frickin Baldur's Gate (1998 game) and slacking pretty hardcore, so I haven't done much. Trying to get back into the game now.

Oddly, I'm doing slightly better now, but running slightly bad. So things are still pretty level.

(Note, I played about 600 hands on the day when UB hand histories screwwed up so this chart should be off just a bit. The mega-spike at 34k is totally legit though. That was pretty wild. )

edit: RB+bonuses ftw!

Not even half-way through the month, and half of my goals have been altered...

[ QUOTE ]
1) Buy a second monitor and build my dedicated poker computer

[/ QUOTE ]

I bought a second monitor (19" AMW flatscreen for $130 at Fry's), but decided to try to make the extra computer into a media center instead. I've got something running in Windows 2000 (except that I will have to pay $40 to get a key for the software), but I'm really interested in getting a MythTV system running. It's free and I hear it's very powerful. The problem is I'm not much of a Linux guy, but I grew up using MSDOS, so I'm not afraid of command prompts and dealing with ugly-looking files. I tried doing a KnoppMyth setup, but it won't display anything, plus it seems to be pretty crippled as a desktop. My second attempt will be with Ubuntu.

2) Start datamining

[/ QUOTE ]

I found out that Stars doesn't permit datamining, and that's currently the only site with money in it, so this is out.

[ QUOTE ]
3) Play a lot of poker while I have the free time
4) Read a bunch of books:
* Stox's book
* How to Solve it - Math education related
* Habits of the Mind - Christian scholarship
* On Food and Cooking - Food science

[/ QUOTE ]

Will check back in on these two when the month is over.
