Re: 200NL AK river play - am I supposed to fold now?
Is checking the turn a bad play? (W/ the idea that your going to call most river bets). Its passive but it controls the size of the pot.

You have top pair pot kicker on a non-dangerous board. In addition the stacks are not very deep. You want to charge flush draws and worse Kings for drawing. |

Re: 200NL AK river play - am I supposed to fold now?
well it seems to me when he calls the flop, he has either flush draw, set, or KQ. If the flush comes, then you can fold to a big bet. If you're up against a set, you min. losses. If you're up against KQ, you probably still induce either a river bet that you can call. If he checks the turn and river, you can safely put in a good value bet. Maybe, I'm way off, but I don't like it when people cold call pot sized flop bets out of position when I don't have better than tptk.

and when he is on a draw and misses, he's going to bluff at it enough for you to make some money.

ps. what shpanko said. maybe theres a merit to them playing it like that to try and fold out better hand if they have KT or something [/ QUOTE ] If villian has a PSB left then maybe this can be done, but he barely has 1/2 pot left. I'm calling this every time, but I'm still unsure if I should be folding, since I assume villain knows I'm commited to calling. All of this said, like shpanko, I have seen all kinds of crappy kings, and worse in this spot too. |

Re: 200NL AK river play - am I supposed to fold now?
fine but if he seems like a station i like a bigger bet on turn. theres nothing really wrong with your bet but if he will call $55 almost the same amount of time as $36 then i will bet $55.
