[ QUOTE ]
you induced the bluff, call. [/ QUOTE ] That made me think, if hero C-bet and villian pushed, how would you feel here? I've been in situations before where I have pocket pair like TT, JJ, QQ and there's a higher card on board vs. a medium stack (not small, medium, 50 bbs +); it seems if I were to bet and they pushed the situation would call for a fold unless the opponent had a smaller stack. I guess I'm asking, is it standard to check to induce a bluff in this situation? |

[ QUOTE ]
That made me think, if hero C-bet and villian pushed, how would you feel here? [/ QUOTE ] I feel better in the spot where our c-bet gets raised on a board like this than the spot the OP described. The reasoning behind this is that the standard line, one that most probably don't vary from on this board, is to call the c-bet due to "All worse hands fold, all better hands call if you raise." You'll very rarely see an SSNL TAG raise Kx on a dry K-high flop over a c-bet, so that effectively limits the opponent's hand range to sets/AA that beat you. (Note, this is all based on the fact that hero 3-bet pre) As for the OP, I need a pretty strong read before I start calling overbet shoves, even when it is apparent to our opponent that our hand is not a fan of the flop. I'd call occasionally for balance, but fold most of the time. |

i dont think checking will control the pot ever, i think a cbet and check on the turn(them fearing c/r) would control the pot better
