Default Poker a viable career option for Job seekers?

A Northern Ireland Job Search website has a section that basically interviews/reviews different careers, gives advice about writing your CV (Resume) and so on. The site is powered by the much larger and more popular website 'Jobfinder'.

So I was a little shocked to see them have an article/interview with a professional poker player. Surprisingly, the interview is actually very fair and positive. They seem to present professional poker as a viable career option (although the guy they interviewed does have a poker sponsorship deal).

Check it out here:

I guess being a professional poker player is starting to become respectable profession!

What do you think? Is playing poker a career option, (such as dentistry or IT), that job seekers could seriously consider? (Bare in mind that this website is based in and focused upon the United Kingdom, so the gambling laws are quite favourable for poker players over here)...

Tell us about your qualifications/training.

To date I have gained a wealth of academic qualifications, such as five O-Levels, a HNC in business studies and a degree in business and finance.

These qualifications don't relate much to my job today, but it's good to have them and I would encourage all young and upcoming poker players to do the same and get qualifications.

I have always been good at teh Maths and this helps me work out pot odds and statistics in a game.

TL, DR. Regulatory risk not really worth effort to learn winning ways if you don't know already. To truly handle variance when bills come due, you need 60 to 100 buyins at 1/2 just to earn a decent living.

Doesn't everybody get five O-levels/GCSEs? Unless they're borderline retarded?
