2-5 NL hand Bellagio
Just sat down to 2-5 NL(200min-500max) at bellagio. Somewhat loose passive, good game. Avereage stack around 400-500. Two bigger stacks, one 900, and villian about 1500. Villian in sb, Hero in mp. Dealt AK, one limp, two folds, Hero raises to $25 with AKo. Hijack calls, button calls, villian repops to $125. Hero calls, other two fold. Flop comes A 8 3 rainbow. Villian checks, Hero bets $150, Villian check raises to $450. Hero????

Re: 2-5 NL hand Bellagio
Assuming you started ~$500 - it's an easy call for $225 more. He has to never be bluffing and never have AQ or AK for this to be a fold. Sucks when he has AA/88, but call.

I wouldnt call pf raise but you have to call on the flop. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. Would you shove against the likely table bully? Or fold? |

[/ QUOTE ] If I've seen him repop already once or twice in the session and I feel like he is LAGgy I shove pf. It's definitely read-dependent. You have to call the flop C/R because of pot odds like others have said. Would anyone ever check behind on this flop and possibly raise the turn? It's as dry as a bone. You'll make more from KK that way. |

Re: 2-5 NL hand Bellagio
First of all I'd raise to 35 PF since this is a live game. If I'm calling the repop PF I'd obviously be getting it in on this flop no matter how the action went. Generally though, I would fold this PF.
I think agent_fish makes an interesting point. You're WA most of the time here with villain drawing to 2 or 3 outs and might be able to extract more from big PP scared of the A with that line. |

Re: 2-5 NL hand Bellagio
OK, results. I was actual the villian in this hand. I had been in the game for 4 hours or so and was feeling pretty good about my image at the table and ability to use that image. A new player limped, no reads, and two very loose preflop players called. I elected to raise big in the SB with AKs for multiple reasons. First I thought the original raiser could have anything, but being new to the table would not want to gamble big in a pot, the other two were loose and i was very sure I was ahead of both of them. Unfortunately the original raiser called. When I hit about the best flop possible I decided to go for the check raise. Hopefully he had made a poor call with A-10 to AQ, although A10 is probably a little too hopeful. I also thought this was the best way to get him to bluff off some chips with an underpair. When he folded AK he said he knew I had aces. This hand intrigued me a lot and just wanted some feedback. Any comments on my play would be appreciated, thank you.
