i can't help with the IP check, but the obvious answer is to tip the bread to a 90 degree angle and let the excess drip back into the jar.
however, if OP used the combo stuff, this problem would have never happened in the first place unless he had motor skill problems.

I prefer to just let the jelly leak out the sides and lick it off. Either that or don't smush the bread down too much and simply enjoy the jelly goodness.

I'm not proud. -Sam [/ QUOTE ] i have done the baguette dip, then finished it off with the finger squeegie. you are right, you should not be proud. i a roommate once that was able to knife out the PB, and leave columns of nothing but jelly. problem was that you always had to leave enough PB behind to hold the mass of the jelly columns, so from the outside of the jar it looked pristine. nothing worse than resigning yourself to eat this nastiness for dinner, only to open the lid and find jelly snakes.
