Western Union stock worth buying?
What does everyone think about Western Union stock? From all accounts I've heard lots of gamblers have switched from online wallets or credit cards to person to person transfers like Western Union. The fees are like $50 for a $750 transfer so they have to be making money hand over fist on these. Also, last week I was told my particular Western Union agent was full with transfers so I would have to wait a few days to initiate mine. Just seems like they should be making a lot more cash in '07, but I'm not experienced looking at balance sheets and the like so was wondering if others thought this would be a good investment.

First Data Corp bailed WU from bankruptcy once already and spun them off again recently. There isn't a real track record yet after the spinoff.

dont count on it based on your analysis. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed but I think he may have a valid point. I would say consider talking to a broker and have him analyze the books. If you feel strongly about this company then you have added incentive to research further and a good broker will in addition to making trades for you, educate you on risk/reward and financial analysis. |
