Default 200NL - Line Check Bottom Set, turn makes 4 to Straight

Button is 25.61/17.07/2.89 over 82 hands

UTG+1: $96.70
MP1: $207.35
Hero (MP2): $205
MP3: $108
CO: $221.40
BTN: $117.45

UTG calls $2, 2 folds, Hero raises to $6, 2 folds, BTN calls $6, 2 folds, UTG calls $4

Hero bets $35, BTN raises all-in to $96.45, Hero ????

Button's range is large here. Could he have been floating the flop?

Should I have even bet that turn or tried to get to a cheaper showdown?

Another tough hand for sure. We are getting about 3-1 and are about 4.6 - 1 to improve if he has the straight. This could also be another set but I would think he would raise on the flop since the board is so drawy. However a semibluff or two pair is also very possible as well.

I'm happy with a fold or a call here as well without some read on him.

Call, he could have air. If he has it, boat up!

I'd fold. However, with those odds a call isn't really that bad either.

I talked this one over with one of my good buddies and we came to the conclusion that I probably should have checked the turn.

I think we are playing this had to get to a showdown and given the board we want this as cheap as possible. I think if we are beat here, and occassionaly when we are ahead we get it all in on the turn which is not horrible, but if we check/call it is a little more difficult to get all the money in, although he probably does on the river.

In this hand the river was the 8 of spades which would have made for an easy fold if he pushes the river. If the board had paired we can lead the river and he is likely pot committed with a straight, and if it blanks off, we most likely pay off (check/call)
