Last or First?

So i'm looking for housing in san francisco and it is very hard to get a place. Whenever a place has a room and has open house for like a few hours, there would be 10+ people come by to see it.

I want to make a lasting impression in the ~20 minutes that I have with the roommates. Say the open house is 12-3pm. When would be the best time for me to come? Right at 12, at 3? Somewhere in the middle?

Anyone has any tips in general?

Also if you're from the Bay Area I'd love advice for where to live. I work in San Leandro and is looking for places to live in SF or Berkeley - looking for a house with cool roommates situation.
