Why should I raise the flop here?

Am I raising for value, or as a semi-bluff in position to buy a free river card. I don't see any fold equity, but I may be wrong.

How much should I raise the flop if that is what I was going to do? Given effective stack sizes a push would be just about pot sized, so just shove?

[/ QUOTE ]

sb c/c a 1/5 pot sized bet and folded on the turn.

i think you have a lot of FE. i mean, this is either a monster, (flopped straight), or A7 trying to end the hand now. it's pretty easy to see where you are at. just bump it up to a pot sized bet, and you'll see what's up.

[/ QUOTE ]

by bump it up to a pot sized bet, do you mean to what the pot was before BB bet out $10 (i.e. raise to $50), or raise to $80 after I complete the $10 bet to me?

If I raise to $50, I don't see anyway that I can possibly fold given the effective stack sizes, so shouldn't I just push?

I like raising a lot more than I like calling. You're going to have a hard time getting action if you just call and the turn comes a 4,8 or 9 and even with an 8 or the 4h/9h you're going to have to be careful. With the PF raiser checking and that guy betting so small I think you have fold equity if you put in a real raise plus you're hands is more disquised and worse hands are going to have a harder time getting away from the bloated pot.

What if I said that I was MP1 in this hand with 88, and MP3 (Hero) is someone else with an unknown hand. How does the line look from the perspective of MP1?

Still bad, in fact, even less reason to not bump flop since theres no cold caller in between. And stop confusing me with your personality shifts...ARE YOU A WIZARD???

No we both had 88 in this hand, and we both butchered it, but he came out on the + side when his turn push was called by Ad4d, and the river bricked off.
