I'm looking to improve my grip. I suck at opening things and always have my friends do it. I am looking to buy a grip strengthener I can use while I sit and play poker. Recommendations?
Secondly, when I lift, and especially when I do dips, I get some small pain in my wrists. I stretch my wrists for a few seconds at the start of every workout, but are there any specific stretches I should be doing? Additionally, any recs for increasing wrist strength that can be done easily, either at home or at the gym? Thanks calc |

Start with the trainer, then when you're able to close that get the number 1. I have the number one and still can't close it. |

I believe the best training for grip strength are static holds. Preferably with a thick bar, try hold a heavy weight for as long as you can. This also ties in with shrugs and deadlifts mainly, but all exercises improve grip.
And ya blackkeys suggestion is really good you can use those while playing |

If you can get to a rockwall, that will tear your forearms apart. Youll get so many angles from a wall that you cant really get from the repetitve motion of that squeeze thing. I dont if any brand name gyms have them or not.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah these are fun and strangely addictive. the 2 is raping my soul and simply will not budge past a certain point but the quick progress on the trainer and 1 is pretty gratifying. |
