Default TV next to monitor, now monitor has line going down it

I put a little tv on my desk yesterday and now a sweeping line moves down the monitor whenever the tv is on, kinda like when you see a monitor on TV it always has that sweep. It stops when the tv is shut off. I put tin foil between the TV and monitor and it did not help whatsoever. CRT monitor.

Does this damage the monitor? Is there any way to fix this other than moving the tv, or should I just move the tv right now? Thank you.

Yes

Move the TV. Essentially, there's magnets in a TV (and CRT) that are used to focus the electron beam. CRTs are typically better shielded than TVs because they're always in close proximity to other devices (hard drives) that suffer when near magnets. If you leave them together, you'll also begin to notice distortion and color shifting just as if you held a magnet to the screen.
