Default Tax issues with state-citizenship status

Ok, after getting an answer on the car question (thanks!)

Will I be forced to pay additional income tax to New Jersey if I live and work in Connecticut for 12 months before moving back to New Jersey if I do not change my state registration?

Additionally, while I am at it, does anyone have a readily-linkable resource I can investigate the laws regarding state registration? I don't want to get in trouble for not re-registering my car each time I move/change my personal status, etc. Also, don't I have to update the draft board until I reach some age?

Thanks

Default Re: Tax issues with state-citizenship status

I have the same issue kinda. I go to school in Texas. Have my car registered in Texas. I am from Kansas. My parents still live in Kansas. Texas has no income tax. Kansas does have income taxes. My accountant basically said that when and if kansas revenue service (or what ever) contacts me asking me for my taxes that it would basically be an argument at that time on weather I have to pay. The more things that you have severing your ties the better you are off to win an argument. aka register your car in Connecticut. get a bank account in Connecticut. get a phone in Connecticut ect.
