I might have to alter my play with AA after reading this thread.

With this many people willing to call a huge UTG overbet with KK... I will be making these donk raises with AA a little more often. Definitely an EV+ move IMO.

No it isn't. People don't automatically get dealt KK when you get AA, and when they do you usually stack them anyways. Open shoving AA is very very bad unless your playing .05/.10 or lower then it might be ok.

you always win big pots(or lose big when it gets there) when you have AA and someone else has KK

but you lose a fuckton of value vs other hands

I know it was more of a joke post than anything else.... but I am wondering how people here can say "open pushing with AA is a horrible play".

Yet people here are willing to call these donk pushes with KK.


I guess I am just surprised. Also... It is probably also possible that if someone donks the pot... then you call... wouldn't someone else with a nice drawing hand call for some multiway pot odds?

Yes it is a horrible play, even at 5NL imo.
And certainly at 50NL.
I don't see this move a lot but IF someone calls it's usually a shortstack.

I think I just fold because most of the times this is AA.
This could be a player that moved up from the 10NL tables where pushing AA happens more.
