O & A on xm radio. And a little off topic. I talked to my sirius rep and he informned me that when the merger happens they are going to keep both howard and O & A. That will be interesting. [/ QUOTE ] probably not. |

Re: Morning Radio Shows
Not sure i've ever heard a morning show that I actually like.
NPR Morning Edition counts I guess but I don't think that's really what we're talking about here. I've listened to a few which I can barely tolerate in small doses though. Sidenote: My first professional job in radio was doing morning-news on a country-music station in middle-of-nowhere Indiana. Like sucked. Up at 4am everyday and drinking tons of coffee because I was also supposed to try to be lively and funny with the morning-jock when I was in there (mostly being his straight-man but kind of getting the occasional jab in there). This was 1993-94 so that meant a never-ending string of Michael Jackson, Tonya Harding and Lorena Bobbitt and penis jokes which were the popular topics at the time. It is amazing I somehow didn't kill myself. |

Re: Morning Radio Shows
OP,
Since you didn't mention the obvious Greg Hill on WAAF as an option, I'm guessing that's not your thing. I like them for NE sports and politics discussion although sometime my personal nickname for them is WAAF, home of the uninformed debate, when even the guy you agree with sounds like an idiot. I listen to either that or O+A for my 7 minute drive home before I turn on Sirius and listen to Howard Stern for about 10 hours. As for Toucher and Rich, when I rarely find myself in the car in afternoons I find them listenable, except for when they discuss NE issues (particularly Red Sox) as they are obviously outsiders who have no basis for forming an opinion on a matter whether I agree with them or not. |

Re: Morning Radio Shows
Mike and Mike are the worst [censored] ever. Mike Greenberg is all that is wrong with sports radio.

I haven't heard many radio shows outside the east coast, but as far as east coast goes, I think Elliot in the Morning (DC/Richmond) is by far the best. [/ QUOTE ] Elliot is okay, The Junkies are alot better IMO. I have satellite though so it's almost always Howard 100 in the morning for me. |
